Reliability: The Foundation of Successful Logistics

Technology has transformed the logistics and warehousing industry.

Real-time delivery tracking, improved supply chain visibility and increasingly sophisticated planning systems have changed the way businesses manage their logistics operations. Yet, despite these advancements, one factor continues to define the relationship between logistics providers and their customers: reliability.

For businesses across the UK, consistent logistics performance is not simply a convenience. It is an operational necessity.

Every missed delivery can have consequences. Production schedules can be disrupted, stock availability can be affected, customer service levels can suffer, and revenue can be placed under pressure. When supply chains depend on multiple moving parts, businesses need a logistics partner they can trust to deliver on its commitments.

At Fox Group Logistics, we understand that every load represents an important commitment to a customer.

Our role extends beyond transportation. We provide assurance.

  • Assurance that deadlines are treated with importance.
  • Assurance that expectations are communicated and managed.
  • Assurance that customers can focus on running their businesses while we focus on meeting their logistics requirements.

Reliability is built through consistent performance, attention to detail and a commitment to doing what we say we will do.

Ultimately, transport is built on trust. And trust is earned through delivery, day after day.

Agility: The Competitive Advantage Every Business Needs

While reliability provides the foundation, agility enables businesses to move forward. No matter how carefully an organisation plans, unexpected challenges will always arise. Demand changes. Markets shift. Deadlines move. Customer expectations evolve.

In this environment, the ability to adapt quickly has become an increasingly important advantage for businesses managing modern supply chains. The most successful organisations are not necessarily those with the greatest resources. Often, they are those that can respond effectively when circumstances change. This is where the value of an agile logistics partner becomes clear.

At Fox Group, we believe customers should never feel restricted by their logistics operation. Instead, their logistics partner should empower them to respond to opportunities and navigate challenges with confidence.

Our commitment is built upon flexibility, responsiveness and problem-solving.

When circumstances change, we adapt.

When challenges emerge, we work towards solutions.

When opportunities arise, we help customers explore how their logistics operation can support their ambitions.

Whether a business needs dependable transportation, flexible warehousing or a more comprehensive logistics strategy, having a partner capable of responding to evolving requirements can make a meaningful difference.

Building Logistics Solutions Around Our Customers

As we conclude this edition of Fox Logistics Week, two principles remain at the heart of our approach: reliability and agility.

The modern logistics industry demands more than transportation from one location to another. It requires experience, communication, flexibility and a genuine understanding of the businesses being supported.

Reliable logistics helps organisations plan with confidence. Agile logistics enables them to respond when plans change.

Together, these qualities help create supply chains that are better equipped to meet the demands of modern business.

At Fox Group Logistics, we believe the best logistics solutions are not built around limitations. They are built around customers.

Because when business demands certainty, experience and commitment, trust remains the most valuable asset of all.

Fox Group Logistics — delivering reliability, responding with agility and building trust through every journey.

Fox Group opens new Moore Readymix Concrete Plant in Leyland

Fox Group is pleased to announce the opening of a new Readymix concrete plant in Leyland through Moore Readymix who are part of the Fox Group. This marks another significant investment in our operations and strengthening our ability to supply high-quality ready-mixed concrete across the North West.

The new facility has a production capacity of 60m³ per hour, supported by a 2m³ mixer, allowing for efficient production, consistent quality and reliable turnaround times to meet the demands of construction projects of all sizes.

The Leyland plant complements Moore Readymix’s existing operation in Lytham St Annes, which has been supplying ready-mixed concrete to customers across the Fylde Coast for over 20 years. Both facilities offer identical production capabilities, further strengthening our regional coverage and supply capacity.

Reliable Concrete Supply and Delivery

To support the new operation, the Leyland plant is equipped with a dedicated delivery fleet consisting of five 6m³ concrete mixer trucks and one MiniMix truck.

This enables Moore Readymix to provide a flexible and dependable delivery service, catering for everything from smaller domestic projects and self-builds to large-scale commercial developments and major construction works.

Investing in More Sustainable Concrete Production

Sustainability has been a key consideration in the development of the new facility, reflecting Fox Group’s wider commitment to reducing environmental impact across our operations.

The plant features two 60-tonne powder silos, providing the flexibility to incorporate higher proportions of cement replacement materials into concrete mixes, helping to reduce their associated carbon impact.

Aggregate loading is also carried out indoors, helping to minimise noise and dust emissions and reduce the impact of operations on the surrounding environment.

These features support our ongoing investment in more efficient and environmentally responsible construction materials production.

Supporting Construction Across the North West

The opening of the Leyland plant represents another important step in Fox Group’s continued growth and investment in its construction materials operations.

Through Moore Readymix, we can now offer increased production capacity, improved regional coverage and a reliable concrete supply service to domestic and commercial customers alike.

Whether you’re undertaking a DIY project, building your own home or managing a major construction development, Moore Readymix can provide high-quality ready-mixed concrete to meet your requirements.

Fox Group celebrates double award at Truckfest

Fox Group marked its first-ever appearance at Truckfest with a double award win after making a major impression at Truckfest North West.

The team headed to Cheshire Showground in Knutsford on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September for Truckfest North West, one of the UK’s leading events for the haulage and transport industry.

After years of wanting to take Fox to Truckfest, CEO Paul Fox and the team went all-in for the company’s debut, creating a showcase that celebrated its fleet, its people, history and its longstanding connection with the transport industry.

Part of the stand was dedicated to Harold ‘Barney’ Fox, Paul’s grandfather who established Fox’s core company values that are still a cornerstone of Fox Group today. The HF symbol used on the vehicle branding today is a tribute to ‘Barney’ and his huge influence on the business.

The weekend proved a huge success, with Fox taking home Best Showcase Stand as well as Best Kept Super Truck for its distinctive Peterbilt 379.

The Fox stand featured an impressive selection of vehicles from across the fleet, including a Scania S770 T Cab, Scania 164, Scania sweeper, two Scania eight-wheel tippers, a Scania R560, Scania R590 V8 and the award-winning Peterbilt 379.

Visitors were able to get up close to the vehicles throughout the weekend, with children invited to climb into the cabs and have their photograph taken. Fox also provided free Polaroid photographs as keepsakes, alongside giveaways including caps, sunglasses, T-shirts, hi-vis clothing, water bottles, pens and notepads.

The stand was designed to be as welcoming as possible, giving visitors the opportunity to meet the people behind Fox Group, learn more about the business and experience some of its most recognisable vehicles first-hand.

The event was a genuine team effort, with CEO Paul Fox joined by colleagues from across the business, including the transport team, drivers, machine operatives and office staff.

A Fox Group spokesperson, Caroline Hurt, Managing Director of Fox Leyland, said:

“Have we come down yet? Absolutely not! We are thrilled to have won Best Showcase for our stand and Best Kept Super Truck for our Peterbilt.

“This was our first Truckfest and what an achievement. What started as a tiny idea grew into something the whole team could get behind, and seeing our stand come to life over the weekend made us incredibly proud.

“A huge thank you to everyone who visited us, shared their photos and posts on social media, and helped make the weekend what it was. We’d also like to thank the Truckfest team for putting on such a fantastic event.”

For Fox Group, which has its roots dating back to 1932 in Blackpool, exhibiting at Truckfest provided an opportunity to celebrate an industry that remains at the heart of the business.

Truckfest brings together hauliers, fleet operators, manufacturers, suppliers, drivers and truck enthusiasts, with everything from working fleets and customised trucks to classic, vintage and American vehicles on display.

Fox Group’s first appearance gave the business the chance not only to showcase its vehicles but also the people responsible for operating, maintaining and managing them every day.

Following the success of the weekend and two awards from its debut appearance, Fox Group is already looking forward to returning to Truckfest in 2027.
